Diagnostic criteria:
- Headache fulfilling criteria for 8.2 Medication-overuse headache
- Regular intake of one or more opioids1 on ≥10 days/month for >3 months.
Note:
The opioid(s) should be specified in parenthesis.
Comment:
Prospective studies indicate that patients overusing opioids have the highest relapse rate after withdrawal treatment.
